ABOUT THE ROLE

WHY THIS ROLE EXISTS

TL Engineering is growing its fabrication team to meet increasing demand for custom alloy vehicle bodies across Western Australia. This role exists because our customers expect the highest standard – and maintaining that standard requires skilled fabricators who take ownership of their work from raw material through to final inspection. You’ll be building alloy trays, canopies, and accessories using modern equipment, including access to our laser and CNC machinery. Every build carries the TL Engineering name, and every person on the floor plays a direct part in that.

RESPONSIBILITIES

WHAT YOU'LL OWN

  • Execute fabrication and welding work in line with approved drawings, specifications, and production schedules
  • Apply a full range of fabrication techniques including cutting, welding, forming, burning, machining, and dishing
  • Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications to determine job requirements before beginning work
  • Prepare metal stock and work metal sections using hand tools, flame-cutting torches, and cutting machines
  • Inspect your completed work against quality and safety standards before sign-off
  • Maintain a clean, organised, and safe work environment at all times
  • Work collaboratively with the team and contribute ideas and solutions on the floor
  • Operate laser and CNC equipment as required following training and sign-off

ADVANTAGEOUS

WHAT YOU BRING

  • Relevant certification or trade qualification in fabrication, welding, or a related discipline
  • Experience in a fabrication or manufacturing environment, ideally within vehicle body building or light vehicle production
  • Hands-on proficiency with welding and metal fabrication techniques – MIG experience is a strong advantage
  • Confidence reading and interpreting technical drawings and specifications
  • A detail-focused approach with a genuine commitment to producing high-quality, finished work
  • A team-first attitude – someone who respects their workmates and takes pride in a collective result
  • Openness to learning new equipment and upskilling over time

WHY US

WHAT TL ENGINEERING OFFERS

  • A stable, established business with 55+ years of continuous operation and a strong forward order book
  • Complex, high-value projects across mining, transport, and government. Work that challenges you
  • A practical, experienced team who take real pride in what they build
  • Competitive remuneration package commensurate with your experience
  • On-site role at our Hazelmere facility
  • A role with genuine autonomy and scope. You’ll shape how this product line grows across WA, not just fill a seat in an established process
